Standard Golf recommends inside sharpened cutting blades primarily for sand greens. They pack the sand tighter and hold it more firmly in place. For "push up" greens use an outsided sharpened shell.
Trouble disengaging plugs? Spend just a few minutes sanding the inside of the blade with emery paper. You'll be amazed at how much easier it is to unplug.
